You've probably noticed that this blog has been pretty quiet. Trust me, it hasn't been quiet here. When I logged in today, I was shocked to see how long it has been since I last posted. If you've been looking for updates, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. I have come to realize that I take on too many things, probably many more than I should, and once my life gets hectic (as it always does at the end of each semester) I find that I can't keep up with all of them.
Now if you are expecting that the next line will be some kind of promise that I will take on fewer things or that I will try to manage all of them better, then you are wrong. I realize that it is in my nature to get excited about projects and to want to do them all - thus taking on more than I should. That is something that is pretty much part of my character and after forty something years it isn't going to change due to some blogging resolution. What I have resolved to do; however, is to make sure that I don't beat myself up when I drop one of the balls I am juggling. That's good enough for now.
As I mentioned, it has been pretty busy here. Steve and I spent June and July finishing the last 3 rooms in the house, one of which is a bathroom. We did most of the work ourselves with the help of a carpenter who hung and taped the sheet rock, and helped with the plumbing. I've decided that our next house will come completed so we won't have to remodel. When it becomes outdated, we'll move. I've had enough of the sheet rock dust and all the other fun things that come with re-modeling. But I am pretty proud of what we have accomplished. Over the next few weeks, I will post before and after pictures of the remodeled rooms, taking you room by room through the house.
